Porsche Cayman RPorsche has published the first information about the new hot model which has received name Cayman R (in the alphabet of Porsche a letter R is reserved for special sports models).

New version Cayman looks amazing. It's not only is more powerful on 10 h.p. in comparison with Cayman S, but also on 55 kg is easier. (Cayman R has the motor in volume of 3,4 l which gives out 330 h.p.). Besides, Cayman R has received also more rigid suspension, and also the strengthened brakes.

Thanking to bigger quantity of horsepowers and weight drop new version Cayman together with gear box PDK with two clutches is capable to be dispersed from 0 to100 km/h only for 4,9 sec (it is all on 0,2 sec faster, than at Cayman S, but for owners of Porsche the exit from 5 seconds is very important). Besides, if to order package Sport Chrono acceleration time to hundred in general is reduced to 4,7 sec. The maximum speed new central-motor coupe with a mechanical gear box makes 282 km/h, with PDK – 280 km/h. Average fuel consumption makes 9,7 l/100 of km with a mechanical box and 9,3 l/100 of km with PDK.

The main idea of concept Cayman R consisted in consecutive simplification of a design to improve technical characteristics, dynamics and manoeuvrability of this two-seater. At own weight only 1295 kg engineers of Porsche have managed to finish an indicator of specific weight of a coupe to 3,9 kg/h.p. (with a mechanical box) and 4,0 kg/h.p. (with PDK). The greatest economy was provided with use of the facilitated components and refusal of some equipment providing comfort. As an option as at 911 GT3/GT3 RS and Boxster Spyder, the easy litievo-ion accumulator is offered. The new top model central-motor coupe is completed also with the most easy 19-inch wheels which only are available in Porsche program: all complete set of wheels weighs on 40 kg less.

New Porsche Cayman R will go on sale in February, 2011.
