Alleged that twelve-cylinder engine began to develop 668 hp and 1,200 Nm. And that's enough to machine with a mass about 2.5 tons gaining 100 km/h not slower than many supercars - for 4.4 seconds. 500-hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo is gaining hundred for 4,7 sec.

Of course, such significant increase in power needed to be improved automatic transmission and all wheel drive. As a result, a set of improvements gets in a decent amount - nearly $ 300 000. That's not counting the price of the car. It's noteworthy that externally tuning the instance does not differ from the standard, except for the V12 badge on the tailgate and the front wings.

Kia GT

kia GTIn general, Kia GT is interesting not only own appearance. After all before us rear-drive sedan which in the company is positioned not only, as "sports" (the name testifies to it also). Besides, Kia GT is the first model in the whole ruler concepts which will appear at the Korean company the next two years, — Kia wants to leave on new market niches and to expand the modeling ruler. It is not excluded that GT becomes a prototype new a four-door coupe of mark Kia which will appear on sale in three-four years.

Such car will possess not only sports character, but also rather spacious interior. And the price of such model promises to be more low, than Volkswagen Passat CC, without speaking already about Audi A5 Sportback.

By the way, under a cowl of conceptual Kia GT there is 3,3-liter engine V6 with a turbo-supercharging which gives out very decent 395 h.p. and 534 Nm. It's quite enough for a sports sedan. And together with the motor here is established the newest eight-step automatic transmission — apparently, soon such transmission will appear on many big Kia cars.

Most powerful BMW M5

Well, what can I say? This is a real BEAST. Most brutal of everything that earlier engineers of BMW only did (certainly, we now speak about serial models). Under the hood, the new BMW M5 is hidden as much as 560 "horses"! More powerful machine with conveyor BMW has never got away, and there is no doubt that the new M5 will be the dream of many fans of speed. The past generation of "M" was equipped with a unique V10 engine capacity of 5.0 liters, which gave out 507 hp.

And when developing a new model Bavarian engineers have long thought about, how to upgrade this unit and make it more powerful and more environmentally friendly. Thought and thought, and decided to abandon it altogether. And instead of V10 designed a compact and cost-"eight" 4.4-liter twin-turbo. First, the engine started to put on BMW X5 M and X6 M, and now it has received and M5. And if the crossovers have unit capacity 555 hp, the BMW M5 in the herd increased by another five "horses." Thus, in the BMW stress - for them M5 is the flagship of the entire line of "M".

If you compare the old and the new V10 V8, then you know that the new unit is not only considerably more powerful. He still possesses the best torque. "Top Ten" issue, I remember, 520 Nm and at 6100 rpm, and the supercharged "eight" is already 680 Nm and, thanks to a double boost, they are already available from 1500 to 5750 rpm.

Of course, installing a powerful engine in the BMW could not confine. Even the body is subjected to major alterations, and hood, front fenders and doors are now made of aluminum. The machine was longer than the standard "five" (11 mm) and 32 mm wider. But ground clearance decreased. If the normal "five" has a clearance of 140 mm, then the M5 of 117 mm.

Naturally, the increase in power and torque, as well as serious work on the aerodynamics have resulted in the fact that the dynamics of the M5 was better than it's predecessor. Compare the maximum speed in this case it is senseless - it always electronically limited to 250 km/h. But the acceleration time to "hundred" of a new machine is better. If earlier it was 4.7 sec, now only 4.4 sec!

Sales of the new BMW M5 will begin in a few months, but prices for this model are unknown.

Lexus GS debut in Frankfurt

Last years German business sedans have left far forward on all parameters, and here Japanese have presented the answer — Lexus GS of a new generation. The creators have focused on machine design (in particular, the interior design), and also gave a variety of "novelty gadgets". Now it's a major trend among manufacturers of prestigious models, the Japanese have long been something to boast of. First, the vehicle may be equipped with night-vision camera, which allows to distinguish in the dark pedestrians crossing the road. Secondly, there is a tracking technology for road markings with the function of keeping the car in his lane. Third, information dashboard and navigation system is projected onto the windshield. Fourth, the machine is equipped with all-sky cameras, which help to park. You can enumerate a long time. However, German buyers of business sedans with such equipment you will not surprise.

Japanese always named GS a sports sedan, and the novelty, allegedly, became even more agressive. The modified rear multi-link suspension, some chassis tuning, aluminum levers - all designed to make the model sportier manners.

In the range of engines, as before, the gasoline engine and hybrid powertrain. No diesel versions. So far only submitted two versions - petrol hybrid GS 350 and GS 450h. The first can be either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and a second rear-wheel drive. Later, a more accessible version of GS 250 (approximately - 208 hp).

Under the hood of the GS 350 - familiar from the previous generation 3.5-liter V6 rated at 306 horsepower, working together with a six-step "automatic".

The company's flagship hybrid also has not undergone significant technical changes. Here, 3.5-liter V6 is paired with an electric motor, which gives the total power of 338 hp. The dynamics of this version - very respectable: the acceleration to 100 km / h takes 5.6 sec. The big progress managed to achieve in the field of profitability. Fuel consumption was, allegedly, depressed approximately on 30 %. Concrete indicators of consumption of fuel aren't declared yet. The former generation in the commixed cycle burns 7,9 l/100 km.

Outwardly, the hybrid modification can be distinguished by a slightly different headlights with LED elements. First the differences were more pronounced: the hybrid had a fully chromed grille, while at the petrol versions, it was mostly black.

The most important plus of new generation is it's interior. To replace the boring old-fashioned style, with lots of wood, came the "high-tech." Emphasis is placed on metal and better quality plastic. Decorating interior - this is, of course, a huge screen of the multimedia complex. It's diagonal - 12.3 inches. To understand the dimensions were: the iPad tablet screen size is 9.7 inches.

Dimensions of Japanese practically haven't changed: the length makes, as before, 4 850 mm, and a wheelbase — 2 850 mm. It's on six centimeters less, than at Audi A6 of a new generation debuting in this year. Thus at Lexus the width and height have increased by pair centimeters in comparison with former generation. In interior became a little more spacious, especially on rear places. In Europe sales will begin in February.

Porsche introduced a new 911

So, let's look closely, how the new Porsche 911 is differs from the old. About special appearance will not speak - everything is clear. Although it should be emphasized that the new and old model does not have a single common body parts. For a start it is worth noting that the wheelbase of the new Porsche 911 has increased to 100 mm and the body when it was smaller. While Porsche has presented only two versions of the new 911: the base 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. The first model has a 3.4-liter boxer engine that produces 350 h.p. German engineers claim that 350-horsepower supercar with a gearbox PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) dual-clutch spends per 100 km in the combined cycle only 8.2 liters of gasoline! A version of the 911 Carrera S consumes only 8.7 liters, although she already has a 3.8-liter engine that produces 400 hp (before was 385 hp). At the same time for both models improved dynamic performance. From 0 to 100 km / h Carrera S with PDK accelerates in 4.3 seconds. With the optional Sport Chrono Package and Sport Plus button is pressed for 4.1 seconds at all. Carrera with PDK similar to sprint to 100 km / h requires only 4.6 seconds (Sport Plus: 4,4 seconds).

But the Porsche 911 is famous not so much stunning acceleration. In the end, of a sports car requires more than that. Power of 911 in the ability to very quickly take turns. And the Porsche promised that the new model is going much better than the old! The basis for higher agility and maneuverability, accuracy in the management and exchange rate stability, in addition to long wheel base, are, in particular, the expansion track the front wheels, new rear suspension and a new electromechanical power steering. And now another surprise. Porsche 911 become cheaper! Porsche 911 - it's not just a car. This is a car with history. With a great history. The first model with the same name was shown as early as 1963. Since the French have decided not to quarrel, but instead put the figure zeros alone.

The first Porsche 911, in the creation of which took an active part Ferry Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche (founder himself died in 1951) had a length of 4290 mm (the new Porsche 911 has from nose to tail 4491 mm), rear-wheel drive and rear-linking. The weakest engine at the time was a 2.0-liter unit, which gave 170 h.p. By modern standards is nonsense, but in the early 60s it was not a bad figure. In addition, customers can choose Porsche 911 and other engines - the most powerful was a 3.3-liter supercharged, 300 h.p.

This Porsche 911 produced as many as 25 years! The second generation Porsche 911 (in-plant index 964) was presented only in 1989 - apparently it was like the first model, but the technical filling was completely new. Including the engines - they are now issued at least 250 h.p. There was also all-wheel drive.

The third generation shown in 1994 - the model index was 993. Some fans of Mark thinks that this version of the Porsche 911 is the "real". After a series of 993 is still equipped with engines with air Cooling, as the first Porsche 356 and the "Beetle" (after all remember that Ferdinand Porsche, is the father of the latest model).

Next 911 with index 996 appeared in 1997. And this model had been water-cooled engines (power ranging from 300 to 483 hp). And in 2005, began selling the Porsche 911 series 997. The last model was already at least 325 "horses".

New Honda Civic

This model still seriously differs from the American sedans and coupe which have been shown for the first time in January on a showroom in Detroit. In Europe in addition to hatchback will be on sale also sedan. Premiere four-door Civic will take place later.

Even before the premiere, it was clear that the revolution count on now is not worth it. Despite it's age, the old Civic is still one of the most "daring" cars in it's class. Therefore, the Japanese engineers have decided to keep a good style, though without interest "chips" not done. For example, the taillights are not here just lights. This is both a spoiler!

Engines remain the old, but they were made more economical and cleaner. In Europe, continues to be offered 2.2-liter diesel (150 h.p). Transmission, "mechanics" or "automatic". Other engines, unfortunately, will not, although the five-door Civic and the new generation is asking for the engine, which produces a 200 "h.p".

And the Honda paid much attention to improving the car's driving performance and simultaneous increase of comfort (the last at the old Civic was not too good, especially against the background of new models of class "C"). The Japanese say that, thanks to all the changes that were made to the design of the car and they are, believe me, a lot, Civic has become not only smoother (with better handling), but also noticeably quieter! Five-door Honda Civic breaks in the premium class? Apparently, yes.

Revolutionary Opel is presented

Opel ConceptWithout waiting for a few days before the motor show in Frankfurt, Opel issued the first pictures of it's new city car concept. It should be noted that in recent years, many companies are involved in the creation of such concepts, which differ in small dimensions, a two-or three-bed cabin and an electric motor. And it says that in five years or any firm still decides to mass production of this revolutionary machine!

Opel concept has two seats in the cabin, an electric motor and batteries, which will last for a maximum of 100 kilometers. In Opel suggest that the maximum speed of the car is 120 km/h - for a city more is not necessary.

How much can cost a car after the start of production not yet reported. But in Opel have already declared that city machines, let even with electric motors, should differ the interesting price. Most likely, this implies that such cars will cost less than the psychologically important mark of 10 000 euros.

New Jaguar C-X16

Half a century ago the coupe and cabriolets E-Type (picture below below) were, probably, most desired cars in the world, and for many judges they have remain such to this day, and here Jaguar represents again the car of such class – an easy, prompt double coupe which has received name Jaguar C-X16. This is not a serial car, but so-called «production concept» – the prototype as much as possible approached to the final version. According to a present fashion, the car is equipped by the hybrid power unit. In a modeling number of the British mark the novelty will rise on a step below elegant four-seater XK. Besides the closed version, it's planned also a roadster. Novelties will appear on sale hardly more than in a year. On the one hand, it is possible to name them analogs of Porsche Cayman and Boxster, but with another, on dynamics they are capable to throw down a challenge to younger versions of Porsche 911.

Unlike "Germans", here classical configuration: the motor in front, a drive gear – on a rear axle. Under a cowl – 3-liter V6 with the compressor, developing 380 h.p. Together with a petrol motor the 96-strong electric motor works. For comparison: at presented recently Porsche 911 Carrera new generation – 350 h.p., and at version Carrera S – 400 h.p. Jaguar motor V6 is created under such recipe: the engineers took the powerful supercharged V8 to be installed in the flagship sports car XFR, XKR and XJ Supersport, and removed the two cylinders.

Coupe gaining 100 km /h in 4.4 seconds. That's enough to start a parallel to overtake both of the above Porsche 911 (they need 4.8 and 4.5, respectively). The maximum speed of Jaguar C-X16 - 300 km / h, the "Germans" - 289 and 304 km / h.

However, as now it is accepted, the sports novelty can restrain the ardor to please profitability and ecological compatibility. It is capable to make short-term trips only on electropull-rod. However, who from owners of Jaguar will be content with the weak-willed electromotor?.

Novelty dimensions remarkable enough: model rather short, but unusually wide. The length of 4 445 mm that on 349 mm is less, than at the senior coupe XK, and on 98 mm is less than Porsche Cayman. But in width Jaguar C-X16 surpasses XK, Porsche 911, Cayman and Aston Martin V8 Vantage at least on 150 mm.

Deserves a separate discussion of the future appearance of a sports car. Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum, under whose leadership style created a compelling brand of current models, argues that all of the Jaguars that he ever worked on, it was a novelty - the car, which he would ride more often. Car inherits many of the recognizable features of the present British cars, but got a few new themes. A typical mouth grille reminiscent of a concept supercar, Jaguar C-X75, which the British introduced last year.

Although before the start of sales is more than a year, British journalists have been called an indicative price - about 50 000 pounds.

Ford Focus 2011 Estate Review

Inside the vehicle, the cabin elegantly contrasts smooth and textured surfaces to add a deeper dimension to the experience of the car. The dashboard commands a wider space than in previous models, which serves to broaden out the feel of the seating position. This enhances the already engaging driving position which, combined with improved power steering, makes it a car that can seemingly eat-up the motorway with ease.

The car's boot is low lying, which is fundamentally something to be desired in a family car. Loading and unloading heavy items can be a nightmare with other vehicles so it's good to see the incorporation of a low lip in this model. The boot fills to a capacity 476 litres, which can be increased to 1,502 litres with the seats folded. Although this is smaller than the capacity of other models available, families will likely still find this space more than enough to do the job.

The 1.6 Estate is competitively placed in terms of performance and running costs. A variety of engines are available, from the 1.6 diesel engine to the notoriously impressive Ecoboost petrol engine. The latter exploits a turbocharged aluminium construction that benefits from a rip-roaring 148bhp. The Ecoboost engine provides manages to produce the performance of a 2.0 litre petrol engine whilst granting the driver with lower fuel consumption and emissions.

In line with the trajectory of recent Ford models, the car provides technology to enhance your safety as standard. Especially when considered as a family car, the Focus Estate benefits significantly from the incorporation of anti-lock braking system (ABS), driver, passenger, front and rear curtain airbags, and traction control.
